8/12/2009 - Daniels Fund Awards Columbus Community Center $10,000 Grant for "Dignity Through Work Scholarship Fund"

(Salt Lake City, Utah)  Columbus Community Center announced that it has been awarded a $10,000 Daniels Fund grant to support its Dignity through Work Scholarship Fund (DTWSF).

In October 2008, Columbus launched a campaign to build the DTWSF in response to the ongoing unemployment/underemployment of people with developmental disabilities who traditionally face a 65% unemployment rate. The DTWSF helps fund vocational training and employment supports that help individuals find and retain work in the community. The Daniels Fund is one of the charter donors to the DTWSF.

The Daniels Fund operates the Daniels Fund Scholarship Program and the Daniels Fund Grants Program in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The Fund was established in 1997 by Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television known for his kindness and generosity to those in need.
